Art has inspired my life from a young age. Growing up drawing, reading, and writing helped me through some of the toughest times. I grew up the youngest of 5 in a home of physical, mental, and sexual abuse. I didn't have many role models or people I could go to for help and advice. At the age of 14, I was practically on my own with help from some family and friends. As a child, my safe place was school, a place I could escape it all. I taught myself graphic design, photography, and so much more.
Your upbringing often shapes you and your perspective. I've always been a hustler, someone who can make something out of nothing. Working 2-3 jobs, and still creating my art on the side. I was often overwhelmed and overworked because I grew up on the ideals of survival and not living. I didn't understand the true value of my work and my skills. Never realizing I was standing in the way of my purpose. Then my son came along, and I couldn't imagine not having time to spend with him. So I made a goal; I told myself that I wanted to work smarter and not harder. I decided to learn how to thrive and truly live, not just survive. It took me a long time to let go of the idea that I had to work or grind continually, practically killing myself to be successful. I worked hard learning how to create passive income. Learning how to maximize my talents and balance my time. I didn't know where to start or how, but I was determined and I did it.
We don't all have the same start, privileges, or resources. However, we have a mind, and our mind is our best tool. With an optimistic mindset, courage, and determination, there is no limit to what we can achieve. My mission is to help, inspire, and empower others to grow to be their best selves.
