Kayla Chew with son

My son will be 3 years old in August, marking this month my third Mother's Day as a Mother. It's amazing knowing that I took part in creating a wonderful little person.

Mother's Day holds a special place in my heart and not just because of the little guy who made me a mom. Mother's Day is for all moms. A day to celebrate and honor the women who raised us. I'm thankful to have a strong community of loving women in my corner. I didn't have the closest relationship with my Mother growing up. However, there's no amount of words that can describe how much I love her and will always love her. She's one of the strongest and most beautiful woman I know. I am forever thankful for her and what she does.

Life gets hard and there's no perfect way to parent. Being resilient is choosing how to respond to situations. Resilience is the ability to recover quickly and bounce beyond adversity.

To all the mother's out there, I ask you to please Be Kind to YOURSELF. We're all fighting our own battles and we mother's tend to be the hardest on ourselves. Don't be! Take the time to foster your self care. Despite your imperfections and short comings know that "YOU ARE ENOUGH" and "YOU ARE NOT ALONE". Know that even on the days you feel unappreciated "YOU ARE LOVED". No matter what season you are in, I am thankful for you all and hope you feel loved and celebrated on your special day!
