My brother was killed March 7, 2012. He would have been 31 today ( October 7, 2019). My brother had a lot of pain and baggage that he hid. He would tell me all the time how lost he felt. He didn’t feel like he was good at anything besides being in the streets. He struggled with himself daily. He made some poor decisions and he is no longer here because of it.

This post is dedicated to the boys and man that struggle daily trying to find the light within themselves .

Dear black boy you are loved.

You are strong, resilient, and brilliant.

You are more than your past.

You are more than the negative things people say.

You CAN change. You WILL grow. You can move mountains.

You have changed the world.

So don’t ever let the darkness of the world dim your light.

There is nothing in this world that you can’t do.

Life is not easy nor is it permanent, I pray that you learn to develop a positive attitude that can handle life's disappointments.

No matter what circumstances the world may give you, never stop loving yourself.

Because the love that you are looking for is not outside, it’s inside of you.

You are love, you are light, you are inspiration, and you are motivation. You are the roots.

You are the foundation. YOU are KING! Don’t ever let ANYONE tell you different.
